We have recently updated our stock of Restoration Glass to Schott Geotheglas. This is a slightly thicker material of 4-5mm in thickness compared to the 3mm Schott Restover Plus that we have stocked in the past.
This change means we are now able to offer a toughened safety restoration glass for those projects where there is also a requirement to also follow modern safety standards. It also enables glass thickness and weights to be kept at a minimum when incorporated into heritage sealed units and replacement timber sash windows when compared to laminated options.
Geotheglass is a colorless, drawn glass with the irregular surface characteristics of window glass common to the 18th and 19th centuries. It is very similar in appearance to the 3mm Schott Restover Plus which we will continue to offer from remaining stocks where there is a requirement for a thinner or matching material.
