Toughened Glass

With over a decade of training and experience, our skilled operators have an in-depth knowledge of our machinery; allowing us to successfully toughen complex shapes and designs other processors simply can’t handle.

Independently tested
Our toughened glass has been submitted to TUV Rheinland for independent testing and analysis where it attained EN12150-1 certification, so you can declare that it complies with the relevant safety standards. All our toughened glass carries the appropriate safety marks, so you can demonstrate to Building Control or FENSA that it complies with the relevant regulations and standards.

Discreet safety marks
All our toughened glass is laser marked. This ensures a very neat and discreet mark that is hardly visible under normal viewing. We appreciate that marking is required in order to comply with regulations, but does not always add to the appearance of an installation.  To this end we try to keep the visual impact of the marking to a minimum.

Guidance

  • To show that our toughened glass meets EN 12150-1, the European standard for toughen glass, all our glass is laser marked.
  • Please state at the time of ordering if you have specific marking requirements.  As standard we apply a round badge mark to glass for glazing and a line-mark on processed glass.  The line-mark can be on the face, close to the edge, or on the edge of an item.  It depends on material thickness, size, shape etc,
  • Standard line-marks will not be visible once glazed into frames and may be rejected by Building Control, or similar bodies.  Line marks are generally placed on glass
  • It is not possible to always align the badge marks in an insulating glass unit; the glass may bow during the toughening process and they will be paired as best they can for sealing of the insulating glass unit.
